Located in Palo Alto, Arnold & Porter's growing Silicon Valley office provides the firm's clients with sophisticated advice and representation, with particular emphasis on intellectual property matters in the technology and life sciences industries, and on corporate and securities matters for investors and companies from early stages through maturity.

• Our intellectual property practice involves patent, copyright, trade secret and trademark litigation, and patent prosecution, as well as counseling in relation to IP disputes. Our clients include hardware, software, technology and life sciences companies, as well as companies in more traditional industries for whom IP rights are of paramount importance in their branding and other competitive efforts.
• Our life sciences attorneys focus on patent prosecution; counseling, protection, and enforcement strategies; and IP transactions, as well as on the representation of life sciences companies in a broad range of corporate and securities matters and regulatory compliance matters. Representing both emerging and established companies, we have a strong track record of assisting our life sciences clients in the acquisition, licensing, and litigation of biotechnology, medical device, and pharmaceutical patents. In addition, several of our team members have scientific training and degrees, as well as practical, hands-on experience that provide them with a deeper understanding of the needs and concerns of their life sciences clients.
• Our corporate and securities practice provides premier services to a variety of corporate clients, including advising founders in formation matters, representing companies and investors in early stage equity and debt financings, representing issuers and underwriters in later state securities transactions, including public and private offerings, and representing a range of corporate clients in public and private mergers and acquisitions.
