Christopher Scanlan’s practice ranges from handling traditional labor law matters to advising clients on cutting-edge employment issues. His clients include a broad swath of industries, including health care, professional services, and government contractors.
Mr. Scanlan frequently represents employers in their dealings with organized labor. He has served as lead spokesperson in collective bargaining negotiations and also as an advocate in arbitration and before the National Labor Relations Board. This is in addition to his litigation practice, which has included successful jury trials, appearances before federal and state courts of appeals, and experience with numerous administrative agencies.
Mr. Scanlan regularly advises clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws. He has also advised and provided counsel on the labor issues that arise in large corporate transactions, including multinational transactions.
Mr. Scanlan has been an invited speaker on a variety of topics including workplace wellness programs, qui tam retaliation claims, and defamation claims against labor unions.
He was recognized as a Northern California Rising Star in Labor & Employment from 2009 through 2011.
