Theodore Named to Bloomberg Law’s 2022 ‘They’ve Got Next: 40 Under 40’ List
Arnold & Porter partner Elisabeth Theodore was honored by Bloomberg Law on its 2022 “They’ve Got Next: 40 Under 40” list. The annual report recognizes “the accomplishments of stellar young lawyers nationwide.”
Bloomberg Law highlighted two of Theodore’s most substantial recent wins—both cases dealing with voting rights in North Carolina. In the first case, Theodore successfully restored voting rights to over 56,000 people on probation following felony convictions who had served their time and were back to living and working within their communities. In the second case, the North Carolina Supreme Court held that the state’s congressional and legislative maps were unconstitutional gerrymanders and ordered new, fairer maps for the 2022 elections.
Theodore told Bloomberg Law that she is most proud of her work on partisan gerrymandering lawsuits, stating that “those cases combined innovative legal strategy with major victories for our clients vindicating their constitutional right to vote.”
Theodore has previously been named a “Rising Star” by Law360 and the National Law Journal.
