Intellectual Property

European Intellectual Property

Based in our London office, our European Intellectual Property practice covers transactional and litigation work across the full range of IP, including patents, copyrights, trade marks, design rights and trade secrets. We have a particular focus on the life sciences, electronics and media sectors, but we work across all industries and technologies. Our team also operates as an integral part of Arnold & Porter’s life sciences practice, which is recognised one of the leading life sciences practices in Europe.

Clients rely on our IP litigation team to enforce and defend patents essential to their business. We regularly handle multi-jurisdictional cases, including blockbuster pharmaceutical cases and standards-related telecoms cases, as well as European Patent Oppositions and defences.

On the transactional IP side, our team has a huge amount of experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements. We also regularly advise on matters relating to data protection, advertising and marketing and e-commerce and assist on the intellectual property/information technology aspects of corporate transactions.
