John Bellinger Testifies on the U. N. Convention on the Law of the Sea Before the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations

Washington, D.C., June 14, 2012 -- Arnold & Porter partner and former State Department Legal Adviser John B. Bellinger III testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations today on the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea. In his testimony, Bellinger explained the military, economic, and environmental benefits of the Convention and why the Bush administration decided to endorse it.  Mr. Bellinger, a partner in the firm's international and national security practices in Washington, D.C., advises sovereign governments and US and foreign companies on a variety of international law and US national security law issues, including issues relating to the Law of the Sea.  He testified today in his personal capacity.
