Our attorneys advise US exporters on the full range of international technology transfer issues and compliance and licensing matters relating to controlled technologies. We assist clients in preparing and obtaining approval for necessary export control agreements, such as manufacturing licensing agreements and technical assistance agreements, and in obtaining new registrations under the ITAR, as well as in obtaining specific licenses to give foreign persons in the US access to ITAR-controlled goods and technical data. Similarly, under the EAR, we assist a wide range of clients in obtaining the various licenses required to permit particular exports subject to those rules.
To ensure compliance with export control regulations, we regularly counsel clients on controls on business activity, work closely with companies on voluntary disclosures, and help design internal compliance programs to ensure proper licensing of exports and re-exports—programs that prevent, deter, and detect violations of federal, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
