Lawrence Schneider is a senior partner at Arnold & Porter LLP, in Washington, DC, and head of the firm's international trade practice. His thirty-six years of experience has included representation of clients in a full range of litigation, international trade, customs, legislative, and policy issues, including disputes under various import laws. He also advises government and private entities on issues related to the World Trade Organization and various free trade agreements.
Mr. Schneider has twenty-eight years of experience representing companies, trade associations, and governments in antidumping, countervailing duty, and other international trade proceedings before administrative agencies, courts, and international dispute settlement panels. He has been involved not only in the legal proceedings but also in the political, legislative, and public relations aspects of international trade controversies.
Mr. Schneider also advises clients on trade policy developments and trade legislation, as well as on compliance with the Foreign Agents Registration Act and related laws.

Mr. Schneider also developed and leads Arnold & Porter’s extensive, award-winning pro bono immigration practice, for which he received the District of Columbia Bar’s International Law Section’s 2003 Community Service Award for Outstanding International Law-Oriented Community Service and Public Outreach Work. Mr. Schneider led the Arnold & Porter team of more than fifty lawyers and legal assistants that conducted a year-long study on the US immigration removal adjudication system and in February 2010 issued an Executive Summary and full report totaling 350 printed pages for the American Bar Association's Commission on Immigration on "Reforming the Immigration System: Proposals to Promote Independence, Fairness, Efficiency, and Professionalism in the Adjudication of Removal Cases." On February 2, 2010, the ABA held a press briefing on the release of the report. Mr. Schneider was recognized for his commitment to pro bono immigration work by The National Law Journal, which named him to its 2010 list of "Champions & Visionaries."
