Juan Manuel Trujillo is a partner in Arnold & Porter LLP's New York office, where his practice focuses on international corporate transactions, including project, structured, and cross-border finance deals, as well as restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, commercial arbitration, joint ventures and investment projects, Mr. Trujillo has advised clients in multiple industries throughout Latin America and other emerging markets, including clients in the banking, insurance, mining, media, telecommunications, entertainment, transportation, energy, infrastructure, construction, and hospitality industries.

- Counsel to participant in the bid process for the acquisition of a damage insurance business in Mexico with a valuation in excess of MXN1.5 billion.
- Counsel to South American media companies in multiple financing transactions and the sale and acquisition of e-business platforms.
- Counsel to mining company in the bid process for the acquisition of a non-metallic mining project in Africa.
- Counsel to mining company in connection with copper mining project in Europe.
- Counsel to the developer and sponsor of a high-end island resort in the Caribbean.
- Counsel to the lenders in the acquisitions financing for a controlling interest in 13 airports located in Mexico.
- Counsel for seller and majority shareholders of the target companies in the sale of the largest mining company in Bolivia and Argentina. The multijurisdictional transaction was listed as one of the "20 Top Deals in Latin America" by LatinFinance in 2005.
- Counsel to then-largest motor coach manufacturer in Latin America in connection with their corporate and joint-venture restructuring.
- Multiple financings of various power plants in Latin America, including the financing of thermoelectric power plant in Brazil-selected as project finance deal of the year in 2002 by Project Finance magazine-and other project financing in Chile and Guatemala.
- Counsel to seller of its consumer-product business in a multijurisdictional transaction in South America.
- Counsel to the largest private water concessionaire company in Argentina in connection with the financing of a US$5.2 billion investment program, including credit facilities with the International Finance Corporation (The World Bank), the Inter-American Development Bank, the European Investment Bank, and multiple commercial lenders.
- Counsel to a US asset management company in connection with a US$420 million joint venture with Brazil's largest commercial bank.
- Counsel to the joint venture partner of the UK-based Commonwealth Development Corporation in connection with a copper project in South America.
- Counsel to participant in the privatization process of the pension fund system in a South American country.
