Suzana Blades has extensive experience in the field of international arbitration. She has worked on a wide variety of investor-State arbitration cases before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), under bilateral investment treaties and multilateral treaties, such as the Energy Charter Treaty, representing both investors and States. She has also been involved in cases before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) as well as Brazilian arbitration institutions. Ms. Blades has assisted partners serving as arbitrators in investment and commercial arbitrations. She is the author of several articles concerning States' ability to consent to arbitration, international arbitration in the oil and gas industry, Brazil's approach towards investor-State arbitration, and standards of treatment under bilateral investment treaties.
