Litigation

Maxwell Preston is an associate in Arnold & Porter LLP's New York office, where he is a member of the litigation and intellectual property practice groups. His practice focuses on general litigation and a variety of intellectual property matters, with particular emphasis on copyright, trademark, and trade dress infringement litigation.  In the context of these intellectual property disputes, he has worked extensively on complex issues of foreign and domestic attorney client privilege and work product protection.  His general litigation experience has involved intricate issues of tax refund litigation, lender liability, mortgage foreclosure, commercial and contract disputes, and state election law.

In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Preston has experience in trademark prosecution, clearance, inter partes proceedings, and domestic and international trademark enforcement.

Mr. Preston is a graduate of New York University School of Law, where he served as an Executive Editor of the New York University Journal of Legislation and Public Policy.  He earned his BS in computer science from Duke University.
