James Flynn is an associate in Arnold & Porter LLP's New York office and a member of the litigation, securities enforcement and litigation, and white collar criminal defense practice groups. Mr. Flynn focuses his practice primarily on general and complex litigation, securities, and corporate internal investigative matters. His recent experience includes the defense of a hedge fund and its principal against, among others, allegations of racketeering and securities laws violations related to short selling, and the representation of a prominent consumer products company in a covert internal investigation into allegations involving kickbacks and improper relationships between key information technology group employees and external technology vendors.
Mr. Flynn graduated, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University's College of Law, where he was an Executive Editor of the Syracuse Law Review and member of the Moot Court Honor Society. He was also elected to the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers. Mr. Flynn also participated in the law school's criminal defense clinic, where he represented clients charged under the New York Penal Law. He was adjudged the overall victor and best advocate in the College of Law's annual moot court trial competition. Mr. Flynn earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science, with a focus in environmental economics and policy, from the University of Connecticut.
