Katherine E. Ghilain is an associate in Arnold & Porter LLP's New York office, where she is a member of the environmental and litigation practice groups. Her practice focuses primarily on regulatory compliance and environmental litigation. Ms. Ghilain has experience with compliance and litigation matters arising under a variety of federal and state statutes, including the Clean Water Act, the Oil Pollution Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act, the Lacey Act, and the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act, as well as federal and state regulatory programs. She also maintains an active pro bono practice that is focused on environmental issues including off-road vehicle use in national parks and the international natural resources trade.
Ms. Ghilain is a graduate of New York University School of Law, where she served as a notes editor of the New York University Environmental Law Journal. She participated in the law school's environmental clinic, in conjunction with the Natural Resources Defense Council, and the "Community Institutions" clinic, in conjunction with the Urban Justice Center. Ms. Ghilain earned her BA in Environmental Studies from Vassar College, graduating with general and departmental honors.
Ms. Ghilain is a member of the Environmental Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association.
