Lisa Blatt heads Arnold & Porter LLP's Appellate and Supreme Court practice. She is a veteran Supreme Court advocate, having argued thirty-three cases before the Supreme Court, prevailing in thirty, with two cases pending.
Ms. Blatt has been hailed by The National Law Journal as a "visionary" in the law and one of "the 100 most influential lawyers in America," singled out by Chambers USA as one of the "leading former government officials" in Appellate Law, noted for her "meticulous oral argument preparation and 'great presence before the court,'" and consistently rated as one of The Best Lawyers in America for Appellate Law. In 2011, Washingtonian magazine featured Ms. Blatt as a "Superstar" in its "Best Lawyers in Washington" article and also named her one of the "100 Most Powerful Women in Washington."

The National Law Journal recently noted that Ms. Blatt "is known for a no-nonsense argument style that brings results." She was only one of a handful of advocates in private practice who argued more than one case in the Supreme Court's 2010-11 term. Her oral advocacy has been cited as exemplary in the Supreme Court Clerk's Guide for Counsel in Cases to be Argued Before the Supreme Court.
She is a member of the US Chamber of Commerce National Chamber Litigation Center's Constitutional and Administrative Law Committee, a group that assists the Chamber in selecting appropriate cases for amicus participation in appellate courts, and she is a member of the Advisory Board for Georgetown University Law Center's Supreme Court Institute.
Ms. Blatt teaches Appellate Advocacy and Procedure at Georgetown University Law Center. She also has lectured on the Supreme Court, is quoted regularly in the national press on the Supreme Court, and recently has appeared as a commentator on NBC, MSNBC, and Fox News.
