Mark Kleyna is a senior litigation associate in Arnold & Porter LLP’s New York office. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, securities litigation and enforcement, white collar investigations and compliance, and products liability litigation. Among other matters, he has worked on a number of investigations initiated by the US Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission and advisory matters relating to violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and other laws. He is also active in representing pharmaceutical companies in products liability and state Medicaid false claims litigations, and has advised clients in matters involving counterfeit and contraband product and taxation issues. He recently represented a pro bono client at trial in a wrongful termination action, and has represented other pro bono clients in immigration and criminal appellate matters. In 2011, he was a recipient of The Legal Aid Society’s Pro Bono Publico Award for his pro bono appellate work.
From 2006 to 2007, Mr. Kleyna served as a law clerk to the Hon. William H. Walls of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Mr. Kleyna received his JD cum laude from New York University School of Law in 2005, where he was a staff editor for the Journal of International Law and Politics and an Institute for International Law & Justice Scholar. While in law school, Mr. Kleyna interned at the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Bangkok, Thailand, Human Rights Watch and the Center for Reproductive Rights. He speaks Hindi and Czech.
