Stephanie Bonnett Weirick is a member of the firm's environmental and litigation practice groups. Her practice has emphasized defense of major oil companies in environmental and toxic tort litigation, as well as product liability cases. Ms. Weirick has extensive litigation experience at both the federal and state level. In addition to litigation, Ms. Weirick has advised clients on a range of environmental matters, including regulatory compliance with federal and state regimes. 

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Weirick was a summer associate at Arnold & Porter LLP in 1998. In 1999, Ms. Weirick graduated from West Virginia University College of Law where she was elected to Order of the Coif. She was also a member of the West Virginia Law Review and served as an issue editor.

Environmental Representative Matters

• Currently represents defendant in ongoing national MDL proceedings involving the gasoline additive MTBE.  Also participated in leading MTBE cases in California state court.
• Successfully mediated groundwater contamination case involving large private water purveyor in northern California.
• Successfully settled toxic tort claims brought by mobile home park residents allegedly due to the ingestion of MTBE, a gasoline additive.
• Currently represents party in a Superfund clean-up action.
• Lead pro bono counsel in immigration appeal currently pending before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
• Lead pro bono counsel in successful settlement with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for its alleged violations of 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
