With a century of service and more than 1,000 lawyers in 13 offices on three continents, Arnold & Porter is ideally equipped to shape the next century of legal history around the world. We invite you to be a part of this experience.
Our Frankfurt office is always looking for passionate and talented students, legal trainees and lawyers who share our quest for excellence, want to participate in our steady growth, and strive to be part of the next generation of leadership in our firm.
Join us in our Frankfurt office and contribute your skills and ideas to our international and interdisciplinary team.
PRACTICES: FROM (ALMOST) A to Z
Our range of services covers almost the entire alphabet: from anti-corruption to white collar defense. Our sophisticated litigation and transactional capabilities, renowned regulatory experience and market-leading multidisciplinary practices also include antitrust/competition, bankruptcy, commercial litigation, compliance, corporate, employment (including lawyer liability), energy, finance, intellectual property (trademark, patent litigation, etc.), life sciences, M&A, notary’s office, real estate, and tax. And we still haven’t, by any means, listed all areas.
Providing our clients with excellent legal advice and services is our main objective. Our lawyers think entrepreneurially, are open-minded and work as part of a team on complex, often-demanding legal issues. We encourage our lawyers and trainees to take responsibility, act reliably and exhibit credibility. Originality, decisiveness, intelligence and independent thinking are highly valued.
In addition to providing legal advice at the highest level, we attach great importance to an inclusive working atmosphere that values the individual’s integrity and encourages every person to realize his or her potential. Arnold & Porter has an international team with broad experience. In all aspects, mutual respect and cooperation are paramount.
As an extension of this outlook, social commitment is important to the firm and is lived out in the forms of our recognized diversity and inclusion efforts and excellent pro bono programs. Our numerous awards demonstrate that “diversity” is not just an empty phrase at Arnold & Porter; that we live by high ethical and moral standards in our daily work. The same types of recognition from various magazines and institutions in recent years apply to our high level of commitment in the pro bono area. In 2017, Arnold & Porter lawyers dedicated more than 101,000 hours to pro bono work.
Awards are one thing—but the basis for our success is our employees—without whose commitment we would not be able to achieve such outstanding results for our clients.
We have flat hierarchies and value openness and collegiality in our dealings with each other. The working atmosphere in the Frankfurt office—as it is throughout the firm—is characterized by a constructively friendly atmosphere. Teamwork across practice groups and countries is part of everyday life. Colleagues—be they lawyers, assistants or administrators—meet regularly for internal exchanges to promote solutions and outcomes that are respectful of each other and beneficial for the client.
LIFE IN THE FRANKFURT OFFICE
Approximately 20 professionals work at our location in Frankfurt am Main. A professional but not strict dress code is expected. In addition to a convenient location in the heart of Frankfurt’s city centre, close to the Alte Oper, we offer our employees functionally equipped offices and state-of-the-art technology.
Upon joining Arnold & Porter, you will learn our internal processes as part of our introductory program. The program contains information on the use of our IT system, internal workflows, library and online databases. In addition to “on the job” training, we further enhance and support your professional development with internal and external specialist training, as well as with “soft skills” coaching.
