Intellectual Property, Europe
Based in our London and Frankfurt offices, our European Intellectual Property practice covers transactional and litigation work across the full range of IP, including patents, copyright, trade marks, design rights and trade secrets. We work across all industries and technologies, with a particular focus on pharmaceuticals, medical devices, electronics, media, chemicals, food, automotive, and manufacturing. Our team also operates as an integral part of the firm's life sciences practice, which is recognised as one of the leading life sciences practices in Europe.
Clients rely on our IP litigation team to enforce and defend IP rights essential to their business. We regularly handle multi-jurisdictional cases, advising clients on litigation strategy in a diverse range of disputes from complex, high-value software contracts to trade secrets litigation. Our team has extensive experience of patent litigation, including blockbuster pharmaceutical cases and standards-related telecoms cases, as well as European Patent Oppositions and defences.
On the transactional IP side, our team has a huge amount of experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements. We also regularly advise on matters relating to data protection, advertising and marketing, and e-commerce, and assist on the intellectual property/information technology aspects of corporate transactions.
