Susan Bare is a member of the firm's litigation practice group. Her practice focuses on the discovery phase of complex litigation, primarily in mass tort pharmaceutical and securities litigation, and government investigations. For example, she has worked on diet drug litigation and smoking and health litigation. As a result, she has extensive experience in pleadings, formal written discovery and significant motions practice before a multi-district litigation court.
Relative to her practice, Ms. Bare has developed a strategic understanding of how to protect and manage the attorney-client privilege and work product protections. She has counseled clients in effective protection of these privileges and defended against challenges for waiver, crime fraud and other challenges. Ms. Bare also presents the firm’s internal privilege training and has developed the same as a CLE course for outside practitioners.
Ms. Bare’s recent pro bono matters include involvement in the Legal Aid counseling and advocacy program for Medicare assistance, as well as with the Election Protection coalition program assuring voter equal opportunity for participation in the political process.
