Ashley Bender counsels a broad range of healthcare and pharmaceutical clients, including pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, medical technology, healthcare management, and biotechnology companies, and professional societies on healthcare regulatory, compliance, and public policy issues. She advises pharmaceutical clients on compliance with state and federal laws, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and FDA regulations, and counsels on coverage and reimbursement considerations. Ms. Bender's regulatory practice focuses on regulatory and legislative initiatives affecting healthcare companies, enforcement of federal and state fraud and abuse regulations, and off-label promotion. Her transactional practice focuses on advising clients on the regulatory, structuring, and business considerations in healthcare business transactions and contractual arrangements.
Ms. Bender received her JD from the American University, Washington College of Law, where she served as Note and Comment Editor of the Administrative Law Review and Articles Editor of the Health Law and Policy Brief. Also during law school, Ms. Bender was a legal clerk for a large healthcare association, a legal extern for the Majority Health Office of the Senate HELP Committee, and a student attorney at the Disability Rights Law Clinic. Ms. Bender received her BA from Northwestern University.
