Dorothy Birdzell's practice focuses on merger review, criminal antitrust investigations, and civil antitrust litigation, encompassing experience in a broad range of industries including aerospace, energy, pharmaceuticals, media, telecommunications, and banking. Clients have included AT&T, Airbus, General Electric, Par Pharmaceuticals, and BP plc.
Ms. Birdzell has trained and supervised large discovery teams of attorneys and support staff for multiple matters, and plays an ongoing role in developing best practices protocols for the evolving field of electronic discovery, with a particular emphasis on the protection of attorney client and work product communications.
Her pro bono practice has included counseling clients on obtaining Medicare Part D coverage; providing assistance in domestic relation matters including securing equitable outcomes in child custody and support disputes; and assisting in large-scale discovery efforts aimed at achieving improvements in the sewage system of Nassau County which has experienced a series of repeated failures resulting in the temporary and permanent non-inhabitability of the homes of area residents, as well as a corresponding loss of value in their properties.
