George Covucci is a retired partner whose practice focused in the areas of real estate transactions, bankruptcies and workouts, and tax matters. He assisted domestic and international clients with high-end real estate transactions, including sales and purchases of commercial real estate, distressed assets, development and leasing projects, structuring of joint ventures and limited partnerships involving tax, partnership, and financial issues. In addition, he handled disputes among owners of real-estate-based assets. Mr. Covucci also provides pro bono assistance to residential tenant groups and not-for-profits on various real estate projects.
In his bankruptcy practice, Mr. Covucci served as counsel to creditors' committees of lenders, developers, and limited partners in various foreclosures, real estate workouts and bankruptcy proceedings. His experience in the tax area and in structuring various joint ventures from a business and financial perspective has frequently lead to "win-win" situations for the owners and lenders of failing real estate projects.
