Lisa Hill Fenning

Retired Partner

Lisa Fenning is a retired partner. While at the firm, she drew upon her 14 1/2 years as a bankruptcy judge to provide savvy, practical advice and sound judgment for clients that become involved—whether by choice or necessity—in the corporate restructuring and bankruptcy arena. Her strategic insights and ability to anticipate likely scenarios also reflect the fact that she represented, listened to, and learned from bankruptcy parties of all types, including debtors, equity owners, lenders, trade creditors contract counterparties, asset buyers, investors, and landlords. While she has been involved in bankruptcy cases in a wide range of industries across the country, she particularly focused on issues relating to the real estate, media and entertainment, healthcare, sports, hospitality, and technology sectors. Ms. Fenning also served as a mediator in bankruptcy-related matters, including plan mediations and litigation disputes, and advised clients on negotiating and structuring transactions to provide bankruptcy-risk protection from potential counterparty bankruptcies.

From 1985 to 2000, Ms. Fenning served as a US Bankruptcy Judge for the Central District of California, and then as a mediator with JAMS. She is a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy.
