Michael J. Isaacs focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, emerging growth companies, and general corporate matters. He represents companies in various industries and stages of development, from pre-incorporation planning and entity formation to debt or equity financing, and through the M&A or IPO process.

Prior to starting his career in law, Mr. Isaacs worked as a research scientist for five years. His scientific career began as a graduate student at UC San Diego and the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Mr. Isaacs then joined as the first employee of a start-up in South Korea founded by his graduate advisor, that was based on technology they spun out of the Salk Institute. Subsequently, Mr. Isaacs spent time as a research scientist at a large bio-pharmaceutical company in San Diego. Mr. Isaacs's work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and he is a co-inventor of US and international patents.

While in law school, to complement his biotech experience, Mr. Isaacs worked in several legal departments of large Silicon Valley high-tech companies.
