Colleen McDuffie's practice focuses on intellectual property, technology, and cloud computing legal matters for a broad range of clients, with a particular emphasis on technology transactions and complex commercial agreements. Her experience includes negotiating and drafting licenses, software-as-a-service and other technology services agreements, strategic alliances, development agreements, joint ventures and other collaborations, supply agreements, and other intellectual property and commercial agreements; protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights, including drafting and prosecuting trademark, copyright and patent applications; due diligence regarding intellectual property and technology assets for corporate mergers, acquisitions, and IPOs; and client counseling on a wide array of intellectual property, high tech, data, and Internet legal matters.
Ms. McDuffie has represented clients in a wide range of industries. Examples include automotive design and manufacturing, connected vehicle technologies, semiconductor design and fabrication, satellites and space technologies, telecommunications, Internet and new media, pharmaceutical research and manufacturing, marine navigation, and disaster relief and humanitarian aid.
Ms. McDuffie is a 1995 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a Hardy Cross Dillard Scholar, and she has physics and electrical and computer engineering degrees from George Mason University.
