James Mestichelli focuses his practice on doing business with and litigating against the federal government. His practice involves counseling and representing government contractors on a wide range of issues including bid protests, contract claims and appeals, regulatory compliance, suspension and debarment, False Claims Act litigation, cost accounting, data rights and intellectual property, subcontractor and teaming agreements, and size protests. Before joining the firm, Mr. Mestichelli clerked for the Hon. Michael W. Mosman in the United States District Court for the District of Oregon. In law school, Mr. Mestichelli was an Executive Editor of the Michigan Law Review and received the University of Michigan Law School's Rockwell T. Gust Advocacy Award.

Prior to law school, Mr. Mestichelli served in the US Air Force as a Senior Pilot and Aircraft Mishap Investigator.
