Stephen Porter is a retired partner who practiced in the real estate, tax, and corporate areas. His practice principally involved large-scale, complex real estate transactions, corporate and real estate financing, leasing, and general business counseling. He counseled major corporations, nonprofit organizations, and professional firms seeking to relocate their offices, as well as developers of hotels, marinas, and office buildings.
Mr. Porter has served as Chairman of the Board of the Washington Performing Arts Society, the Forum for Psychiatry and the Humanities, and the Board of the District of Columbia Chamber of Commerce. He also has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of the District of Columbia, the Board of Trustees of the Federal City Council, the Advisory Board of the Center for Strategic & International Studies, and the Board of Directors of the Washington School of Psychiatry. President Bush appointed Mr. Porter as a Member of the National Endowment for the Arts.
He also lectured on business subjects at the Georgetown University Law Center and American University Washington College of Law.
