John E. Shearer

John Shearer provides counsel to clients in the life science industry on various contract law matters focusing on clinical trial agreements, collaboration agreements, sponsored research agreements, and licensing agreements.

Mr. Shearer earned his JD from the University of Kentucky College of Law in Lexington, Kentucky. While in law school, Mr. Shearer earned a Masters of Health Administration from the University of Kentucky College of Public Health and spent time providing pro bono services in rural eastern Kentucky. He also completed an Administrative Summer Fellowship and legal externship in Risk Management at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Mr. Shearer's career began in the healthcare industry serving as the General Counsel for an emergency medical services provider in central and eastern Kentucky. Mr. Shearer transitioned to life sciences while working for a large hospital network in Boston, MA where he negotiated clinical and nonclinical research agreements.
