Dr. Katharina Tasma focuses on trademark, design, unfair competition and patent litigation. She represents national and international clients from several industries, including biotechnology, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and luxury goods. Dr. Tasma advises on the full spectrum of EU and German Intellectual Property Law, especially:

  • trademark and patent litigation, including infringement, nullity, cancellation and opposition proceedings;
  • preliminary injunction proceedings;
  • protection and enforcement of IP rights in Germany and other European markets;
  • prevention and combating of product counterfeiting and piracy;
  • management of worldwide trademark portfolios, development of trademark strategies; and
  • drafting and negotiating IP license agreements.

Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Tasma wrote her doctoral thesis on a trademark law topic, “Die unberechtigte Verwarnung aus Kennzeichenrecht” (The Unfounded Warning Letter in Trademark Law), completed a special training on IP law at University and focused on IP during her legal traineeship (Referendariat).
