Barry Willner has been lead counsel in a variety of litigations involving antitrust, contract disputes, securities fraud and RICO violations, bid rigging, labor disputes, lender liability, and derivatives. Matters litigated by Mr. Willner include the defense of a major oil company in two complex price-fixing cases. In more than a dozen cases, he has successfully defended banking institutions.
Prior to the merger of Arnold & Porter LLP and Kaye Scholer LLP, Mr. Willner served for 16 consecutive years, beginning in 1995, on legacy Kaye Scholer's Executive Committee. He served as the legacy firm's first Managing Partner for more than a decade. Prior to becoming Managing Partner, he was involved in the legacy firm's management as Vice Chair of its Executive Committee and thereafter served as Chair of the Executive Committee. In the years during which Mr. Willner presided as Managing Partner, Kaye Scholer opened offices in Chicago, London, Frankfurt, Silicon Valley, and Shanghai. He also served as a member of the legacy firm's Compensation Committee for 15 years.
Mr. Willner received his JD from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he was Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal.
