Jeffrey Yang leads the firm's China Corporate and Finance practice in Shanghai. He has more than 20 years of experience advising leading multinational companies, major financial institutions and private equity funds on a broad range of corporate, finance and commercial transactions including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, foreign direct investment, import-export, international trade, structured finance & derivatives, and syndicated & leveraged finance.
Mr. Yang also has substantial experience with capital markets transactions and has represented both underwriters and issuers on IPOs and going-private transactions, in particular, for major Chinese companies listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.
Working closely with the firm's Washington, DC office, Mr. Yang also routinely advises Chinese law firms and Chinese companies on national security matters including export controls, trade sanctions and reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
Mr. Yang's practice has a strong industry-sector focus in the areas of Life Sciences, Energy and Natural Resources, and Shipping.
A native of Shanghai, Mr. Yang is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Shanghainese.
