Arnold & Porter Hosts a CFIUS Discussion with Treasury Department's Deputy Assistant Secretary for Investment Security

WASHINGTON, DC, May 30, 2012 -- Arnold & Porter LLP hosted a special breakfast program featuring Mark Jaskowiak, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Investment Security at the US Treasury Department. Jaskowiak discussed the process followed by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) in its reviews of transactions involving foreign investment in the United States.  The Treasury Department chairs the interagency Committee responsible for reviewing certain foreign investments for potential national security concerns. 

The event, attended by 117 people, was sponsored by the Washington Foreign Law Society, the American Society of International Law, the DC Bar International Law Section, and the following committees of the ABA Section of International Law: Export Controls and Economic Sanctions Committee, International Investment and Development Committee, International Trade Committee, International M&A and Joint Venture Committee, and National Security Committee.
