Erik Walsh Rejoins Arnold & Porter Following 6-Year Tenure at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York

NEW YORK, NY, February 7, 2018 — Arnold & Porter announced today that Erik Walsh, former Senior Counsel and Assistant Vice President in the Enforcement, Litigation, Police, Investigations & Corporate Affairs Division at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY), has rejoined the firm as counsel in the Financial Services practice. He will reside in the firm's New York office.

In his role as Senior Counsel and Assistant Vice President at the FRBNY, Mr. Walsh led enforcement investigations against financial institutions and employees, including matters involving violations of Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations and manipulation and other misconduct in the FX markets. He worked closely with federal, state, and foreign regulators and enforcement authorities including the Department of Justice, the New York State Department of Financial Services, and the UK Financial Conduct Authority. He also has particular experience with Bank Secrecy Act / AML and OFAC compliance issues.

Prior to the FRBNY, Mr. Walsh was an attorney at Arnold & Porter, where he focused on financial institution and securities litigation.

Mr. Walsh earned his JD from Boston University School of Law, where he was Articles Editor of the Boston University Public Interest Journal. He received his BA from the State University of New York at Geneseo, cum laude.
