IP Attorney Laura Whiting Joins Arnold & Porter in London
LONDON, February 5, 2018 — Arnold & Porter announced today that Laura Whiting has joined the firm's IP practice as a counsel resident in its London office. Ms. Whiting is a solicitor-advocate and her practice will focus on contentious IP matters, joining the existing team led in London by partner Christopher Stothers. She has particular experience in dealing with patent, SPC, and trade secret disputes, and regularly advises clients on the risks and strengths of their IP portfolios and in relation to licensing disputes.
Ms. Whiting has a background in chemistry and strong experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. Recognised by The Legal 500 as a "no-nonsense litigator," her practice typically embraces complex technical cases with a cross-border angle.
Ian Dodds-Smith, head of the firm's London office and co-head of its global Food, Drug, and Medical Device practice, said:
"We are delighted that Laura has joined our firm. Her experience in the pharmaceutical sector will be of significant benefit to our life sciences clients for whom we provide the full range of service out of our London office. Laura will work as an integral part of our European team across the London, Brussels, and Frankfurt offices."
