Hospital Labor and Employment Law
One of our marquee practices is the representation of hospitals with regard to their labor and employment issues. Our lawyers have represented numerous hospitals and health care systems with a variety of issues, including complex union negotiations, union representation elections, discrimination claims, and wage-hour disputes. We are deeply familiar with labor laws and other doctrines unique to hospitals, including section 8(g) of the National Labor Relations Act, lawful responses to short-term strikes, and special rules on union insignia and other union activities in the workplace. Our industry experience means that we are also attuned to the overlap between the issues we handle and other subject matters, including potential claims under federal and state false claims acts and/or potential loss of accreditation or Medicare provider status.
