7-Eleven, Inc.

Our attorneys successfully represented 7-Eleven in a purported class action claiming that 7-Eleven franchisees are actually employees of 7-Eleven and therefore entitled to overtime and expense reimbursement. This was a critically important case for 7-Eleven to defeat because it was a direct assault on its entire business model, which is based on the independent contractor status of franchisees. The court (United States District Court for the Central District of California) disposed of the entire case by granting our motion for judgment on the pleadings, with prejudice.
