Ward v. Barnes & Noble
Barnes & Noble, Inc.
Our attorneys represented Barnes & Noble in the defense of a copyright infringement action brought by Michael Ward. Plaintiff claimed that a B&N publishing subsidiary was infringing his New Zealand copyright and US trade dress rights by publishing a Hangman game book. Summary judgment motion brought by B&N to dismiss the claims was granted in significant part.
In July 2015, a trial was conducted on remaining claims. The jury rendered a verdict in the client’s favor on all such claims.
