RID v. Salt River Project, et al.

Honeywell International Inc.

Our attorneys represent Honeywell International Inc. in a CERCLA action brought against Honeywell and over one hundred other defendants (including the United States government) by the Roosevelt Irrigation District (RID) in Phoenix, Arizona.  RID alleges that its irrigation wells are impacted by one of the largest plumes of contaminated groundwater in the United States, stretching westward across Phoenix and allegedly emanating in part from the Motorola-52nd Street Superfund site.  In addition to the environmental issues (including complex contribution issues), the case has involved unique attorney conflict issues arising from the nature and scope of the environmental claims, resulting in a 125-page opinion disqualifying the original plaintiff’s firm from representing RID against Honeywell and others.
