J.D. Fields & Company, Inc. v. Nucor-Yamato Steel Company
The firm represented Nucor-Yamato Steel Company, the leading producer of steel H-pilings in the U.S., in a long-running antitrust, contract, and business tort litigation against a former distributor. The distributor alleged claims for price discrimination under the Robinson-Patman Act, the parties’ contract, and state tort laws. On behalf of Nucor-Yamato, the Firm obtained a transfer of the case away from the other company’s preferred forum to our client’s home court, counterclaimed for breach of contract, and defended the case through several years of intense discovery. After our client moved for arbitration, the matter was favorably resolved out of court.
