Bruce Kebric, et al. v. Oakland Raiders
The Oakland Raiders have continuously turned to David Reis as lead counsel to represent the team in high-profile employment matters (David also represented team owner Al Davis before his death in 2011), and this past year was no exception.
David was lead trial counsel in an age discrimination case filed by two terminated scouts. He obtained a unanimous jury verdict in this high-profile trial against prominent Bay Area plaintiffs’ counsel Lawless & Lawless. The trial lasted over three weeks and the jury deliberated for only three hours. After long-term Raiders’ owner Al Davis passed away in October 2011, the Raiders hired a new General Manager and replaced a number of coaches and members of the scouting department. Two head scouts who were replaced filed this age discrimination and breach of contract case. The trial featured testimony from Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie and team owner Mark Davis.
