Lanham Act false advertising litigation

Reckitt Benckiser
2010 - 2011

Our attorneys obtained a Preliminary Injunction for Reckitt Benckiser stopping competitor Motomco from engaging in false advertising.  In Reckitt Benckiser Inc. v. Motomco Ltd., 10-cv-6228 (RJS), Reckitt, a world leader in household, health and personal care, alleged that competitor Bell Laboratories, Inc. (conducting business under the name of Motomco Ltd.) made false promotional statements to national retailers about environmental "regulations" that did not exist.  The Court issued a Preliminary Injunction against Motomco, ordering that the company cease creating  a "misleading impression" that regulators had taken any legally binding action.
