Kaye Scholer Presents PLI Webcast on FCPA Compliance

Gregory J. Wallance, Partner in the White Collar Litigation and Internal Investigations group, moderated the PLI webcast “Do the Right Thing: Practical Tips on FCPA Compliance in a Changing Enforcement Environment” on June 7, 2010. Eric H. Sussman, Partner and Chicago Head of the Regulatory Enforcement and White Collar Litigation practice, Yingxi Fu-Tomlinson, Partner in charge of the Shanghai office, and Christopher R. Brewster, Counsel in the Legislative and National Security Practice groups, analyzed recent FCPA enforcement patterns to provide insight into the enforcement mindset of U.S. regulators and prosecutors.

FCPA enforcement activity has rapidly increased, involving more aggressive legal theories and law enforcement techniques, increased global coordination, and rising financial penalties. The Department of Justice currently has more than 130 pending investigations that are being supported by an enlarged staff, as well as greater use of the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and a specialized unit at the Federal Bureau of Investigation devoted to the FCPA.
