HR Executives and Employment Law Experts at Mannheim University

September 26, 2012

On September 26, 2012, Partner Dr. Hans-Joachim Fritz, Frankfurt, will speak at the University of Mannheim (http://www.arbeitsrecht.uni-mannheim.de/praktikerkreis/index.html) to an audience of HR executives and employment law experts. His lecture deals with whether – based on German and European law – executive board members should be regarded as employees or as consumers under certain circumstances. He will summarize the consequences of various decisions of the European Court of Justice and Federal Courts in Germany relating to board member classifications for issues such as maternity leave, paid vacation time guaranteed by law, working hours, antidiscrimination and provisions which are normally supposed to protect employees (and not managers representing the employer itself).
