Morriello to Speak at PLI’s Marketplace Lending and Crowdfunding Conference

Finance Department chair Henry Morriello will participate as a panelist in Practising Law Institute’s Marketplace Lending and Crowdfunding 2016 event on September 9, 2016. This seminar examines the transformation of marketplace lending as a legitimate way for consumers and small businesses to access credit and industry changes on the horizon, including business practices, legal interpretations of old tech laws and regulatory challenges.

Morriello’s panel “Securitization and Secondary Markets” will address the following topics:

  • Securitization issues after Madden
  • Asset models
  • Role of rating agencies
  • Controlling defaults and prepayments: yield protection
  • Secondary markets and the regulation of loan trading
  • Loan trading process: clearing and custody issues
