Arnold & Porter LLP

Please join us on Thursday, November 19th
for an in-person discussion:

Strong Legal Ethics Equals
Good Corporate Governance

Like their counterparts in law firms and government, in-house lawyers are governed by the applicable rules of professional conduct, even when functioning in a business role in the company. Complying with certain standards and the expectations of the public – including regulators – puts in-house lawyers in a unique position. This program will guide in-house counsel on how consistent application of ethical rules can lead to better corporate governance and better corporate culture.

The program will be a mix of (i) a substantive discussion of top ethics issues for in-house counsel, and (ii) case studies about failing to act consistent with legal ethics.

Panelists:
  • Amy L. Bomse, Partner, Attorney Liability and Business Litigation, Arnold & Porter
  • Andrew Price, Senior Counsel – Ethics and Compliance, Google
  • Norman W. Spaulding, Nelson Bowman Sweitzer and Marie B. Sweitzer Professor of Law, Stanford University
Moderator:
  • Julia Vax, Partner, Corporate and Securities, Arnold & Porter
