A seasoned commercial litigator, Sunita Bali represents technology, retail, and other clients in complex privacy and consumer class-action disputes, as well as other commercial litigation matters. Sunita has secured significant victories in cases presenting sophisticated and novel legal issues, and clients rely on her unique ability to develop practical solutions to some of their most complex legal problems.
Sunita is particularly experienced in defending large, high-stakes privacy and consumer class-action cases brought under the federal Wiretap Act, the federal Stored Communications Act (SCA), the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA), and California’s consumer protection laws. In addition to her litigation practice, she regularly counsels clients on compliance with privacy and consumer protection laws, particularly laws that regulate the collection and use of biometric and other sensitive data.
Sunita also has well over a decade of experience litigating and advising clients on content moderation issues and has represented some of the world’s largest companies in high-profile cases implicating Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and the First Amendment.
