Orion de Nevers is an associate in Arnold & Porter’s Appellate and Supreme Court practice, where he focuses on constitutional, regulatory, and election-related litigation. Orion has represented clients in matters before the U.S. Supreme Court and numerous state supreme courts, presented oral argument in the federal courts of appeals, and tried cases in both federal and state court. He has represented Members of Congress, state legislators, and federal agencies in high-stakes controversies, and regularly provides counsel in cases requiring both legal and political judgment.
Orion frequently analyzes legal developments for legal and general-interest audiences. His academic scholarship appears in The Georgetown Law Journal and the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights, and his legal commentary appears in Slate, Bloomberg Law, The National Law Journal, and other publications. Orion’s work has been cited in both legal briefing and judicial opinions.
Orion joined Arnold & Porter after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Jane B. Stranch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Honorable Catherine C. Blake of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University Law Center where he served as Senior Notes Editor of The Georgetown Law Journal.
