Spencer focuses on civil and appellate litigation in federal and State courts. He also maintains an active pro bono practice. Spencer joined the firm after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Julius N. Richardson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Spencer is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Virginia Law Review, participated in the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Spencer received his undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Virginia Tech.
