Benjamin Mizer brings more than 20 years of experience in private practice and high-level government positions. Most recently, he served as the Acting Associate Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice. As the agency’s third-ranking official, he supervised 13 of the Department’s components, including all litigation by the Antitrust, Civil, Civil Rights, and Environment & Natural Resources Divisions. Ben previously held several other senior leadership roles at DOJ across two presidential administrations, including as the head of the Civil Division and the head of the Office of Legal Counsel. He also served as the General Counsel of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and as the Solicitor General of his home State of Ohio.

In addition to his career in public service, Ben was a partner in private practice, focusing on appellate and complex litigation. He has litigated at the trial and appellate levels across a range of subject matters, including antitrust, constitutional, consumer protection, environmental, False Claims Act, financial fraud, and mass torts, among others.

Ben has argued three cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, two of which yielded unanimous wins, and many others at the appellate level.
