Patrick Owens is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice who focuses on patent litigation and post-grant proceedings. He is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Patrick previously worked as a product development engineer before earning his J.D. at Chicago-Kent College of Law. Patrick leverages his prior industry experience and comprehensive understanding of patent law to protect and enforce clients’ patent rights and defend against accused infringement.
Prior to joining the firm, Patrick handled IP matters at an AmLaw 100 firm. Patrick represented a power tool manufacturer in successfully asserting five patents in a jury trial against an infringing competitor, and represented an automotive manufacturer in defending against accused infringement of six patents owned and asserted by a non-practicing entity. Patrick also previously handled patent litigation, prosecution, and general due diligence matters for clients in a wide array of industries.
