Lauren Polak counsels healthcare clients, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, medical foundations, and other providers, primarily focusing on medical staff law, regulatory matters, and operational issues. She partners with physician leaders and executives to advise on medical staff credentialing, peer review, corrective action, governance, and bylaws. Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, Lauren spent 18 years in-house at a major academic medical center, and she has a unique understanding of the overlap between clinical operations and legal and regulatory requirements. She is skilled in developing practical solutions that ensure high-quality, safe care for patients. Lauren is also experienced in contracting, clinical research, the corporate practice of medicine, licensure, clinical training, corporate governance, and compliance, including fraud and abuse and privacy.
